Without hesitation I recommend Oakland Pet Care to take care of your furry loved ones. Our dog has thrived on their daily pack walks. As a young high energy dog, our pup has greatly benefited from OPC’s talented walkers who have helped him build confidence, gain positive social skills and get some of that energy out. Going on pack walks is the highlight of our dog’s day.
Delia is great with dogs and a very nice person as well. Had my new pup over for boarding and she gave me a few training tips while I was there. Nice big fenced in yard and twice daily walks. She has extensive training and is certified as well. Will be my go-to place for boarding when I need to.
When I reached out to Oakland Pet Care, I had the pleasure of meeting Delia. She is delightful and is empathetic to my little Lola’s needs. Being new to the area, she needed confidence and Delia is helping her do just that. She understands Lola’s strengths and focuses on the positive while trying to obtain Lola’s goals.
We love OPC! From the very first meeting, everyone there made it super clear that their first and only priority was Fin’s happiness and well-being. When he first started off with OPC, Fin often would display a lot a mouthiness on walks and had a minimal sense of recall – making it hard for others to walk him. The OPC team (Delia, Cloe, Aly) was extremely patient working with him at his pace and after a couple months helped Fin build his confidence to be successfully integrated into a squad filled with his girlfriends/besties! It’s such a joy to watch him eagerly wag his tail when he sees someone from OPC – and seeing how happy he is on these walks through the pictures and videos that get sent our way. Moreover, what puts OPC above and beyond is that while Fin was going through some medical issues, everyone on the team made it a personal effort to check in with Fin and showed him tons of love. It takes a village to raise a pup and we’re all very lucky to have OPC as part of it!
Absolutely, hands down, Delia and her team are the best animal sitters, walkers, and caretakers I have ever come across. Delia took such great care of our puppy and supported us when we brought her into our home with training, walks, and dog sitting. Ultimately the puppy we brought home was not a good fit for kids and was anxious, nervous, and aggressive with our son. It was heartbreaking and felt impossible to figure out. Delia went above and beyond to help us match our dog with an owner that made sense for her. I can never thank Delia enough for what she did for our family and for our dog to make sure we all ended up in a good place. If and when we ever get another animal, I would go to Delia in a heartbeat. She’s the very best!!!
We have nothing but good things to say about our experience using their dog walking services for our pup, Twix. Oakland Pet Care have always been super easy to communicate and work with! We had a horrible situation with a past dog walker where we found out he wasn’t actually walking our dog (!) so we came in with a lot of questions and were hesitant to trust another dog walker again. I worked at a pet tracking device company and the walker was willing to add herself to Twix’s app so we were always alerted to where they were going and how long. Twix always came back happy and tired. Couldn’t ask for more!
Delia and her team are amazing. They were a fantastic support during a complex hospice situation, and their training and care really had an effect on the behavior of an old but spritely foster pup. Their pictures and reports are very reassuring, and they were very understanding about helping with last-minute needs that occasionally arose. A few times a sitter spent a full weekend at my place, and I was greeted by a very relaxed doggo on return. They’re great with dogs, great with people. A wonderful business all the way around!
Working with the wonderful team at Oakland Pet Care has been a fantastic experience, especially for our Yorkie Daisy. We started with solo walks for some remedial training and then transitioned to group walks with a pack of small pups. They explore the neighborhood and local trails. Yes, my 5lb Yorkie goes on trail walks and loves it! After each session we receive a report and photos. My family loves reading about her adventures and seeing Daisy with her besties captured on film.
What makes OPC particularly special are the people. I can’t say enough about them. From owner Delia and her diligent scheduler to trainers Cloe and Aly, and Daisy’s current walker, Melissa — all are incredibly kind, knowledgeable and trustworthy.

Today we met Delia of Oakland Pet Care. It was not under the usual circumstances. We brought our puppy to Ohlone Dog Park in Berkeley on a Saturday morning. 15 minutes later Delia was on the ground with us trying to release the jaws of a pit/bulldog type who latched onto the neck of our screaming and terrified pup. Delia, a perfect stranger and good Samaritan, risked her own safety to step in and help and she successfully got the dog to let go without injury to our puppy. She then comforted our dog with treats and gave us helpful suggestions on what to do to in these types of situations. I would trust my dog in Delia’s care. Delia thank you so much for caring about dogs and helping us!
We have been clients of Oakland Pet Care for almost 4 years, that’s when we rescued our older Border Collie, Gladys. Once we met Delia we knew we were in good hands, right away our girl was melting in her hands. Over the years we’ve seen an improvement with our girl’s training, and we owe a lot of it to Delia and her Crew at Oakland Pet Care. We have also comfortably boarded our dog in Delia’s care overnight. If you are looking for a local dog walking/training/boarding company…Oakland Pet Care is amazing. 5 Yelp stars doesn’t even cut it – Delia and her team were life savers, anxiety easers and one of the best things that could have happened to us.
We rescued our pup, Chester, when he was about a year old and quickly learned that he had some behavioral issues. We took him to behavioralists, classes and with tons of support – we slowly introduced him to new things and he was able to ease into a normal life.
We needed a dog sitter/ walker, but were very wary of who we worked with. We wanted Chester to continue to improve and not regress back.
After lots of googling, stress, trial and error – we found Oakland Pet Care. Delia came to our house to meet Chester and was nothing but loving, encouraging and understanding – it’s all a good story from there. We implicitly trust Delia with Chester – he would do overnights, daycare and walks, some days.
Pick ups and drop offs were simple and communication was easy and very responsive. I never worried about Chester when he was with Delia. Delia and her team were a reliable and trusted part of our lives – I’m not sure what we would have done without them.
Chester has a top 5 and Delia is certainly in it – he simply loves her.
When we got married – we wanted Chester to be a part of the wedding, but knew he would be terrified if he had to spend the evening. Delia to the rescue! She brought Chester to our wedding in St. Helena, hung out with him for the ceremony and took him back home with her.
It was unforgettable and made our day perfect – it wouldn’t have been the same without him there.

We moved to San Mateo and still bring Chester over to Delia when we go on vacation.

Delia is the absolute best. She has been walking and boarding my dog for a year, and I don’t know what I would do without her. I have a 5-year old rescue Chihuahua-mix, who has some personality quirks. Before Delia, he was reactive with other dogs, particularly on leash, and she has worked wonders with helping to get him socialized with other dogs. Now he can go on walks with plenty of other dog friends, both large and small! She is so good to him, and has even taught him to sit and roll over! She’s flexible with my sometimes hectic work schedule, treats my dog like one of her own, and is in all respects a delightful human being. I cannot recommend Delia highly enough, and I’m so happy I found her!
I’ve also really enjoyed getting to know the other folks at Oakland Pet Care, and they’ve all been such great and reliable caregivers to my dog. (He loves them!) And they take the cutest pictures of him out on walks and text them to me. I recommend them without reservation!
